SharePoint Saturday Charlotte Update
Dan Lewis did a GREAT job pulling off a tremendously successfull SharePoint Saturday on June 20th in Charlotte, NC.  I had a great time - as I always do when I get to see my SharePoint Tweeps.  A bonus was getting to meet some new people - and no offense to the new folks, but the highlight was getting to meet Mike Gannotti.  I've followed Mike's blogs for years ( http://socialmedia.mikegannotti.com/default.aspx ) - so I knew he he would have great insight on SharePoint, but boy is he an entertaining speaker.  I thoroughly enjoyed his talk.

I got to meet - officially, turns out we've shared nachos at a past SharePint event - Laura Rogers and attend her event on Out of the Box Web Parts.  her talk was very interesting, too - maybe because she does a LOT of what I do - using OOB stuff, SharePoint Designer for Data View Web parts, etc - so maybe there's a reason her talk clicked with me!  ;>  In that same vein, I got to meet the "OTHER Heather" - Heather Waterman!  That was also a treat.  And like Laura and I, Heather also uses SharePoint Designer (to quote Heather, "Not SharePoint Disaster!".)  Michael Lotter strong-armed Heather into presenting for the first time - and you'd never know that was her first time - she looked like a pro.  Great job Heather!!  I also attended Rick Taylor's talk on SharePoint in the cloud (Azure).  Rick is also a professional speaker and very entertaining.  I've attended sessions of his in the past at SharePoint Best Practices Conferences - so I knew he'd be enjoyable to listen too.  And I wasn't disappointed!  Great stuff.

And the great day was wrapped up with good food and drink afterwards at Wild Wing Cafe.  So many GREAT SharePoint folks - I wish I could hang with these guys and gals more often.  Next will be SharePoint Baltimore.  I'll be there.... July 25th!

More SharePoint Saturday events were discussed this past weekend, to include SharePoint Saturday Raleigh (Nov 7th), SharePoint Saturday Richmond (Nov 21st) and other tentative cities and dates - check back latter!.

Finally, I've updated the slide deck that I posted earlier.  This one adds a few more resources and includes scripts in the last slide's speaker notes: http://wss.lennontechnologies.com/blog/Materials/SPSCLT%20-%20jQueryAndSharePoint.pptx

Thanks to everyone who attended my session - I hope you got something out of it, and if there's something you think I could add to the presentation, please drop me a comment or send me an email.  Thanks again!
